Athena was our guide for the English tour of under the wall. She did an excellent job. It was very interesting and informative. I had a great time and learned a lot. Highly recommend this tour for everyone that has an interest in learning about how the Berlin Wall affected the people of Berlin on both sides of the wall.

The directions to get to the start of tour 2 was confusing as heck if you're not already familiar with Berlin's train system - my bf and I had to run around after getting lost and barely made it in time. But once there, this walking tour was 90 minutes of inspirational education on the history of one of Hitler's flak (air defense) towers. I only recently became that interested in history but this stuff was fascinating and disturbing at the same time. This particular tour only takes place April through October in order to not disturb the several hundred endangered bats that made the flak towers their home. Our tour guide Eliot narrated the entire tour as well as David Attenborough could have and maintained well paced timing, and it felt extra cool to wear hard hats and walk the spiral starcases inside. I highly recommend this tour for any visitors to Berlin who are interested in the city's history. The price is well worth it and helps in further excavation and preservation efforts.

I picked tour 2 cause it would show off some of the destruction of the controlled detonations and battle attacks. This is a fairly specific tour about a specific moment in military history, as well as engineering. Sometimes the tour dragged due to the details, but overall, you get a sense of how well engineered the buildings were, as well as the thought process behind logistics around the building. The scenery itself of the caved-in walls, collapsed staircases, and well-placed lighting that makes this tour worth it for me. Its got quite the steep walk up the staircase, but otherwise inside the building, its not too strenuous. It sucks you cant take pictures, but so be it. Its also hard to plan for tours ahead of time since you have to purchase them in person. Otherwise, it was worth going on tour.

This was one of the most inspiring and yet disturbing tours I've taken. The guide had such an amazing background of how national socialism came about, how the country bought into lies and a common "enemy" that it brought to mind current events in the U.S.
Additionally, the exhibits were amazing with historical artifacts and propaganda. You got an idea of the horrors of living through air raids and the miserable life during war time.
Completely different from any other museum tour with a strong anti war perspective.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 015 sept 2019Reseña anteriorThis was one of the most inspiring and yet disturbing tours I've taken. A country with so much history and interesting past the Berliner Wunterwelten is a must see. You walk below the streets and underground with many steps to a place that seems like it was back in time.
I was wearing shorts and a small long sleeve which really didn't make me feel comfortable because this place is seriously seriously cold. I asked the guide if it gets any hotter in the summer time and he says it stays this cool. So be warned bring a jacket when you come here because the whole tour is literally under the streets of Berlin!
The guide we got was not from Germany but from another country and spoke English quite well. The place is filled with many cool things to see and also the glow in the dark room is pretty awesome. I didn't even know they invented that kind of thng so long ago!
Very factual tour and with many photos and items that are from that time period. Yes we aren't allowed to take pictures soo they can keep all these items for the next generation! I'm glad I actually went to this place and got to listen to this tour. It is a little bit long but if you have time check this place out, I really loved it and you probably will if you want to see what would happen if the bunkers.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Jennifer W.Manhattan, Estados Unidos176181318 oct 2019
I went on Tour 1 - Dark Worlds on a weekend afternoon. Got there about an hour beforehand and only about half of around 50 tickets had been sold. By the time the tour started there were still a few spots left for the English tour. Our group was split into two and we had to wait about 10 minutes so the first group could go ahead of us. Our guide, Andy, was knowledgeable and entertaining. No pictures allowed but the content is really interesting.

We went to the dark world tour with Nick as our guide. Very informative and very sobering to see what life was like to a Berliner during WWII. It's priced reasonably and a solid tour experience. Definitely going to check out more if we return again. Other reviewers mentioned being cold so I packed a cardigan because it is spring weather. I, personally, did not need to use it -but it may be helpful to have something warm just in case. Sadly, no pictures are allowed because the property is sensitive and also not owned by the tour company.

Amazing tour. We took tour M - all about the escapes under the Berlin wall. I won't give too much away but the tour was fantastic. A Spanish guide started apologising that his English wasn't perfect; he then spoke better English for two hours than most English teachers. Funny, interesting and poignant. If I was there for another day or two I would have happily taken another tour. One bit of advice...on our tour they took us on the underground a couple of stops away and allowed us to stay and then explore that area. Worth knowing. Very highly recommended.

We did Tour 1 in English. Interesting tour, but less than I thought. No photos allowed, which is a serious bummer for tourists who travel 4,000 miles to see these places and want to remember them.
Also, our tour had about 30 people in the group, one of whom could not stop coughing. Thanks to her poor judgment and being in the enclosed space with her, my souvenir was catching her plague.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Andrew R.San Francisco, Estados Unidos484078 oct 2018
Amazing tour well worth the €12. Guides are very knowledgeable and weave a very interesting tale of the experiences people had many years ago. The first tour (Dark worlds) was so good that we stayed and did the second one (Flak Tower) on the same day.
