Bewilderwood

An astonishing waste of money. This is in short, a £100 day out for a family of four (in our case; 2 adults, two children, 5 and 3). Is it worth it? Certainly not.

Entry cost us an eye watering £64, which admittedly we could have saved £4 on if we'd booked in advance. Lunch was around £20, and drinks though the day another £10 (4x coffee). Facepainting and other activities were thankfully free. Food isn't cheap, especially given the entry price, lunch is about £5pp and hot drinks are around £2.50 each.

I had hoped that for my £100 I would get something
worthwhile in return. Sadly that was not the case, I'd essentially paid for access to a woodland playground for the children, with a few side shows.

What annoys me the most is that an adult pays £16.50 for nothing. There's zero value for money for an adult; you're simply there to look after your children and keep them safe. A member of staff did say "you could go on the zip line" when I asked what there was to justify the adult entry fee.

I get that it costs money to run these places, and that the plethora of staff need to be paid, and that the masses of equipment need to be bought. But, if your business model relies on an "if-you-build-it-they-will-come-and-pay-for-it" form of modern highway-highway robbery, all disguised as "children's entertainment", you're looking at a limited set of patrons. Showing value for money at that sort of ticket price is essential.

I should note however that the staff were very friendly and very enthusiastic. We were thankful for that at least, as they helped the children enjoy their day. I can't fault the staff at all, they were excellent.

Perhaps you'll have an amazing time if you go, your kids will certainly enjoy it, especially if the sun is shining. But, for two parents to pay £33 to stand in a wood for the day you'd have to really want to be there. By contrast, you could goto Holkham Hall and pay £3 for parking, and the kids have an equally good time in a woodland playground, complete with zip line.

One other thing: this isn't an "all weather" site. If it looks like rain, stay away. A lot of the equipment gets quite slippery in the wet, and there is a severe lack of cover from the elements. Everything is out in the rain, so wrap up warm and take a brolly. Incidentally there are no indoor heated areas, so if the kids get cold your day is over. Unless you can persuade them to stand under a hand dryer in the loos.

Like I said, £100 to stand in a wood.

A bit out of town, but plenty of free parking. I would like to give it 5 stars and probably would if I was a few years younger. However the grand children enjoyed themselves, you just need to keep your eye on young children all the time as they can soon get lost and there is plenty of water about.
You need a fine day or at least no rain and you can spend all day in there with plenty to do. You can take a picnic or use the cafes.

US style theme parks, with their quad looping stomach churning coasters are all very well, but they're hardly eco friendly and queuing for 2+ hours frankly ain't much fun. Especially not with kids. So Bewilderwood is a refreshing change
A theme park constructed entirely from trees and ropes, it's essentially a giant strong of connected tree houses and giant slides. Fun for kids? Absolutely. And if you have little ones you get to clamber up and down with them. Which is just fantastic.
Loads of room to spread out and picnic. But watch out for the wasps. They seem to be rather keen on those free range organic hotdogs. And who can blame them

We visited this park in late Spring and were fortunate with the weather. It was one of the most highly rated attractions in Norfolk and whilst it was on the expensive side overall it was money well spent.


Parking was great (free) and the access to the park is either by a wooden walkway or by a boat, which we took. There are a number of play areas in the park and whilst it wasnt acres upon acres of attractions the areas are nicely spaced which means there isnt too much walking around.


Our young children loved all of the climbing areas whcih are very well designed and built. One of the simplest areas is a camp making area where there are loads of branches for the kids to use - simple but effective and entertaining. There are some great slides and zip wires just be a little careful with the static shocks we got... ;-) My youngest loved the maze the most but it could have done with being a little bigger.


The food was reasonably priced which we complimented with our own packed lunches. On the way out of the park there is the usual gift shop with a variety of related items.


One thing of note was that the staff and guides were really pleasant, with none who appeared to wish they were somewhere else. So in summary a great attraction in this region and ideal for families who like a bit of adventure

We visited this place, which has only been open a little while, after many friends had been and raved about it. It is described as a curious tree top adventure and is artistically brilliant and appealing to both adults and children. In some ways it is no more than a wooden adventure playground, but what make it different is the size of the place and the thought and imagination that has gone into it.
Our pre-school children and school aged cousins loved it and couldn't get enough of the slides, zip wires and tree-top climbing. There is a brilliant maze there which for a while seems impossible but persevere and you will find the way out. There are also fairy-tale style boat trips down the lake to take you to and from the entrance. This can get busy but it's worth the wait. I would say this is a must for families with primary aged children but check the weather-forecast before you go as it is all outdoors and can't imagine what you would do if it rains!

I don't know about the kids, but I've been here twice now (ok, the second time I did bring a freinds 2 kids), but really, you can be a BIG kid and have a great day out! The first trip I had here was with 2 other 'BIG' kids (all of us in our 30's), and we had a whale of a time. We're outdoorsey active people anyway, so had a whale of a time up on the ropes & slides, in fact we went on absolutely everything. It makes such a refreshing change to American style theme parks. The staff here are ace too. It's like every single little thing that could have been thought of, has. Highly recommended to kids both big and small!

Took my wife and 2 kids aged 6 and 2. The cost is a little expensive of £39 for four of us. They did not chasrge us for the 2 year old though so actuall cost us £30. Really good fun as adults are able to go on it with their children and the slides and zip wires are fantastic. They also had an easter egg compeition which made it interest with a prixe at the end. A really good day for all. It does bring out the big kid out of you.

Tree houses, adventure
park, swings, story time, den building, slides, maze, zip wires; it
doesn't get any better! We left our 16 month old with the
grandparents as still a little young to benefit properly from what
the park has to offer and meant we could both go around with the 4
year old as she needed reassurance and support for some of the
bridges and larger slides. It's good fun for big kids of 29 and 30
too!
I feel it represents pretty good value for money, £13.50
for those over 105cm and £10.50 for those under (to reflect the fact
they cannot go on the main zip wire although there is a smaller zip
wire for them to enjoy) under 92cm are free. The staff were
brilliant, the story tellers incredibly enthusiastic and great at
getting the kids involved; our daughter went to all 3 stories that
were told on the day and really enjoyed them.
We didn't take
any food but wished we had as there are a couple of really nice
lawned picnic areas as well as picnic tables and benches to use. And
thankfully the whole site is non smoking and there are signs
reminding people what a horrible habit it is. The people serving food
were extremely polite and efficient and whilst the prices were
customarily on the high side, they were not too dear and the food was
of good quality.
My daughter had a lunch box for £4 included
a small ham roll, really tasty apple (I know as she didn't want it),
small bag of crisps, tube yoghurt and a carton of juice. Mineral
water was £1 per bottle and a very nice egg mayo sandwich was £2.95
with a large bag of crisps 90p. Unfortunately we didn't realize there
was a separate food outlet, which sold hot food and took card
payments near the Slippery Slope (we should have paid more attention
to the map!). Here you get a baked potato for £2.25 with each
filling charged at £1. As I said not cheap, but good quality and to
be expected where you don't have a choice. Go here and not to
