Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 11 oct 2016
Cinemex looks just like any other average movie theater in the US, and was quiet and surprisingly clean. We came here on a Thursday night and there were barely any other customers to be seen. I think only 2-3 other couples were in the theater with us. Tickets are super cheap, only 76 pesos ($4 USD) per ticket no matter what time you go. Nice not having to deal with matinee cut offs! Although most movies are in English, be sure to check their website beforehand because it'll tell you which movies and times are in English (with Spanish subtitles) and which are in Spanish only.
They also have a full concession stand but we did not partake since we had just come from dinner. It looked like the run of the mill movie theater offerings though: popcorn, hot dogs, sodas, and candy. I'm sure the prices are also way cheap compared to what you're used to if you're from the US. If you're sensitive to cold temps, be sure to bring a jacket or blanket because they crank up the AC here! Seriously! It's almost as if the electricity is free here because the theater felt like a walk-in fridge!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 21 jun 2016
You can find the Cinemex La Isla in the La Isla Shopping Center in the hotel zone (hence the name, duh lol).
Weather was not cooperating one day while we were wandering around the Las Isla Shopping Center, so we decided to catch a movie to let the rain settle down. We purchased a pair of tickets to The Conjuring 2, which was in English, but with Spanish subtitles.
(+) Tickets were only around $4 USD (76 pesos) for a 4:35pm showing! Very cheap! Also we got a combo at the snack bar which included 2 large drinks, 1 large popcorn, and an order of nachos with cheese. All of this set me back 171 pesos ($9.19 USD). Very cheap when compared to US prices!
(+) Seating was comfortable and, man, do they crank the hell out of the AC!
(-) Popcorn was wayyyy too salty. That being said, I've had worse. lol
(-) I have never stepped in a theater so dark in my life! LOL I literally could not see my hnd in front of my face when I went to try to find some seats! Thank God there were not many people in there at the time!
For less than $20 USD, we purchased 2 movie tickets, got 2 large drinks, 1 large popcorn, nd an order of nachos. The theater was clean and did the trick! It wasn't anything spectacular or memorable, but for that price point, what the hell do you want?? lol
3 solid stars.

I have to say that the experience at the movies was great. The film was in English, they had snacks available and the cost for each movie was essentially just above $4 dollars.
Great way to see a popular movie that is going to be a mint in the States.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
