L'Amiral

Very good, although not superb, food. Efficient but not solicitous service. Overpriced about 30%-40%.
I had the medium tasting menu. The fish soup was basically a fishy bordelaise sauce; the sea bass was excellent although the rice was dry (how hard is it to serve good rice? And if you can't be bothered to ensure it's good, what does thay say about your restaurant?); and the pineapple carpaccio was interesting although ultimately uninspiring, being served simply with a scoop of sorbet. The amuse bouche was almost insulting, and the sweets after dessert bland. The wine was reasonably priced.
This place has potential, but just goes through the motions, I suspect...

Dissapointing from the beginning. Arrived without reservation but got a table between 2 families with very loud children.
A normal selection on the menu but:
Bread dry and very uninteresting could have been circulating since lunch.
Cesar's salad I think the chef needs to go back to school.
Fois gras okay but lack of innovation.
Fish soup!! the best was the aioli.
All meat was over cooked and vegetables out of a freezer bag. Terrible
Desserts cheese not really worth talking about.
Then we got cheap cookies for a future coffee order
All in all not really worth the money.
