This is the one (cocktail) bar in Geneva that makes me feel like I'm back home in San Diego. With the dark decor, terrace seating and excellent cocktails just a couple blocks from the lake- l'atelier is worth a stop if you ever find yourself in eaux vives. Heck, even if you're across town, l'atelier is worth the hike!
As I was doing a bit of a quick cocktail tour of the neighborhood, I limited myself to one cocktail, but the truth is that my one cocktail was so good that I don't think I would have ordered another that might have challenged the experience. The Gin Geneva Gin is out of this world- with gin, lemon, mango and basil the drink hits all the right notes. Plus, the drinks are served with less fuss than other cocktail bars in Geneva and at a slightly better price (I'm thinking of la verre Monique in Plainpalais). 5 stars!!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Alyssa H.Copenhague, Dinamarca5310545 oct 2015
I went here on a Friday night, after I read some good reviews on this place and also had some recommendations from locals . It's located on a street with lots of other cocktail bars. It was definitely a perfect place to start the evening at.
They have outside seating, but it seemed like the only people placed outside was the smokers. And as I'm a non-smoker plus the weather was a little too cold, I chose to sit inside. The place was full of people but not too crowded, which made it possible to have a chat while enjoying your drink.
There were plenty of seating, but it seemed like if you are more than 5 people, it would be hard to find a table that fits.
My friend and I both got the same drink, which was the "Rom of passion" (picture attached, sorry had a few sips). It's a nice drink, but it was a little too sweet for my taste (I'm more of a sweet and sour girl).
The service there is flawless. Well dressed busboys are quick to clear the table.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Celine N.Ginebra, Suiza1199314916 oct 2016Reseña actualizada
Last night, I ordered a whiskey sour and to my great delight, the bartender added an egg white without blinking. Faith in this bar restored! I will most definitely be back for more!

The cool interiors, craftily designed menu and serious bartenders gave me high hopes ... but they started to fade as I perused the menu, which seemed to only offer gin, tequila, rhum and vodka-based cocktails (not just any vodka but vanilla-flavoured Absolut vodka - gasp!). I started with a daiquiri, which was fine but not life-changing. My friends went on to try a few other specialty cocktails but found them weak and generally unimpressive. On a Hail Mary, I ordered a whisky sour and when the magic question (With an egg white? / Avec un blanc d'oeuf ?) was not asked, my heart sank. This is a great spot for hobnobbing and is definitely very trendy and cool, but it did not meet my expectations of a true cocktail bar. The search continues ...

The cocktails are made with great attention to flavours and experience. For that price the service should be entertaining but frankly wasn't but the drink were to notch. The bar is popular and it's great for people watching and having a great time with friends. All in all a place I would recommend. if you're in GVA it is an IN place to go.
BTW bring a lot of cash if your in GVA you'll be spending about 20.- CHF for a good à drink.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - John G.Geneva, Suiza2531 oct 2012Primera reseña
Excellent original and reasonably priced (for Geneva) cocktails! [most cocktails are 15fr except for the dry martinis which are 18fr]
From what I understand the place is run by two dudes that clearly have a passion for mixology. They have created a new menu (not sure how new.. but newer than the one I saw a few months ago) that is almost overwhelming in it's size...
They have a combination of timeless classics (manhattan, old fashioned, martini's, mint julep etc.) and original concoctions ranging from spicy to fruity to herbal... Often they put their own twist on the classics - e.g. the first menu i think the old fashioned was made with honey and raspberry - it was one of my favorites. Yesterday I tasted a few off the new menu - i really liked the strawberry sakerinha (sake and strawberry based) as well as one that had yamazaki (japanese whiskey) passion fruit and litchi liqueur...
The place gets quite crowded during the 'after work hours' and you have to appreciate that it might take a little time to get your drinks, especially if you are a big table (because well, they are elaborate cocktails with that are mixed fresh to order...)
Many times when going between 5-8pm we were offered a free plate of cheese, charcuterie and olives....Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Maxime P.Geneva, Suiza2091 jul 2013
Great cocktails - great design - good ambiance.
Prices are reasonable for Geneva, but you need to manage to get one! Service is really slow and not the friendliest, but it is nice to go with friends.
I prefer to go to their other bar, l'apoticaire, on the blvd George favon.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Emma H.Geneva, Suiza925410 may 2013
Great Cocktail place in Eaux Vives. Reminded me of the speakeasy bars you get in the US - intimate feel with lots of little corners and rooms with seating, well worn in old couches, an (unused) piano....
Really fantastic range of cocktails (the menu goes on for ever) organized by theme, which came pretty quickly considering how busy the place was (and open on the public holiday!). My Papa Hemingway was solid, but my friend's Negroni was divine (although strong enough to mean you need a lie down afterwards). We're already planning our return visit to work our way through the menu...
The menu mentioned a wine and beer happy hour from 5-7pm which might also be fun to try.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tastebud D.Stamford, Estados Unidos138422 feb 2013
Was looking for a good bar on Yelp. Stumbled upon this place. 4 hours later, stumbled back to my hotel. These guys know how to make a cocktail. Fresh ingredients, and they clearly care about each drink. They took care of a couple of Americans, and treated us like locals. Good music. Great crowd. Highly recommend this place.

This is probably THE place to go if you want to taste some of the most original cocktails in Geneva. Price is ok compared with the quality of drinks and the environnment is pretty cool: I definitely recommend it!
