This was my pub after work....my pub to finish off an evening out....or just based on convenience just living around the corner.

But this may have been the friendliest pub....ever....the staff the patrons...the pub catered to the local LGBT community ....but take it from this hetero-US expat at the time.....I had a hoot .....including some of the drag shows and trivia nights- although they invariably referred to us as the cute-dumb American couple.

The pub is really two rooms in one....and although you can see the other side of the bar and room ...you must exit and re enter on Tryon St to access it...quirky...but it fits

The bar and beverages are varied and plentiful....same great super cold taps or old school pours if you prefer.....and the food a step above your typical pub fare.

The owners over the last few years did a full renovation .....although the pre-renovated look was just fine if not a little worn.

This is a unique spot, and no others like it in Chelsea...its a pub, but a cabaret ...a bar but a dance club....and the owners and patrons make it a warm welcoming experience ..straight, gay, or in between.....

Friendly and lively atmosphere. We stumbled in late on a Saturday and the locals treated us (tourists) with care.

You'll find the Queens Head hidden a block off the Kings Road in Chelsea. There are two entrances, leading to two different rooms inside that aren't connected... by anything other than the bar! So if you're in the front room you'll be able to see the other patrons in the much larger back room, but the only way to get to them is by going outside and through the other entrance. It's a little strange, but it's probably been like that for a long time.

As for the actual pub itself... it's 3 stars... A-OK. Nothing special, and a far cry from a lot of the much nice pubs in Chelsea, although you won't find snooty people since it's not a happening hot spot where all the rich kids go. If you're looking for a quiet place to have a drink to catch up with a friend the Queens Head is a good choice in Chelsea, but if you want a fun night out I'd head elsewhere.

This charming, medium-sized gay pub; a stone's throw from The Kings Road, is a haven to escape from all the other pretentious watering holes you find in Chelsea. The only attitude in here is from the drag queens you might find performing on stage from time to time.

It had a make over in October last year (09) and now has the bold & beautiful decor needed to match its bold & beautiful personality. The new gilted mirrors and plush soft furnishings give it the warmth and cosiness that was missing slightly pre-refurb.

They are known for their array of interesting and varied events, from the weekly bingo on a Sunday hosted by Jacqui D, to more random one-off productions by their in-house company 'Spittin' Feathers", providing the perfect mix of stand-up-cum-panto (no pun intended).

If all that weren't enough, they even serve Frulli.

      Nuff said.

Yes it is a nice little pub and this is why I booked my birthday party here. We arrived early to ensure that all was in order and yes they would shortly close off the area they had reserved for us. From that point on nothing happened and my guests had to fight their way through the crowd to get to the area we were in. Each time a table became vacant we added it to ours and finally had what was promised but only by our own making. The staff did nothing.

Wonderful pub--a breath of fresh air from a lot of the more affluent pubs in the area. Surprisingly fantastic fish and chips, and some good pints of bitter.
