It's in a small mall. The service is very friendly. When we arrived there was only 1 other table.
We had a bottle of wine with our meal. My husband had the black pork kabobs. They were a bit dry. I had the sea bass. It came with the head attached but our server took it back to the kitchen and had the head removed for me. It is a very boney fish. The food was very reasonably priced and it was decent food. They offered us complimentary port after dinner.
It was average food for a reasonable price. The restaurant is clean and has a nice ambiance to it. The staff work well together and it adds to the nice welcoming feel.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - David P.Clifton, Estados Unidos33141244 oct 2019
Onda Norte was the site of perhaps our best meal in Portugal. We also dined in Porto and Lisbon, and this meal holds up well against all the others. The food is basic and unpretentious. The shrimps we ordered were super fresh and delicious. The steak with an Alheira sausage on top was perfection, as was the grilled Golden Bream. Service by our waitress Liliana was excellent, as she also provided good conversation to my wife's many questions about food and also provided suggestions for her favorite places in Lisbon. The entire dinner, with three main dishes, bottle of wine, and dessert, was less than 70 Euros. A fantastic bargain! If I'm in back in Lagos, I will be sure to return.

For our first meail in Lagos, my wife and I walked in to Onda Morte without having a reservation. While it was not crowded when we arrived around 7:30pm, we noticed a lot of tables had "reserved" signs on them. The place quickly filled up, so I'd recommend making a reservation. The wait staff spoke english well, but as full as the place was it seemed like they could have used another waiter or two. They have a great selection of wine and some beers on tap, which was nice. The food here was great! I got the veal- the largest veal chop I've ever seen in my life. It was great, along with all of the sides. My wife got the salt cod, which was amazing. The best part about it was the price, it was so cheap! I couldn't believe we got that great quality food for so little. All in all a very great meal, I would definitely go back next time we are in Lagos.

This place was a disorganized mess. Maybe due to Good Friday holiday but what a mess. Don't go.

The restaurant had a quite nice atmosphere. The main meals were plenty of food for the price and also tasted good. Potatoes very greasy but the rest was good.
The appetizers (bread butter cheese olives) was good also but really expensive. They charge bread per person which never happened to me before in Portugal.
We wanted to take away the left overs and they also charged 1€ for packaging. That was ridiculous.
But overall i would definitely go there again because we were full, it was tasty and it still was a more or less cheap place.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Simon L.Bonn, Alemania0317 feb 2014
My girlfriend and I went there twice when we were in Lagos. You probably won't get seats if you're in groups larger than 2 or 3 because it seems to be always crowded in the evening. And you'll know why: The food is really awesome. We had steaks, fish and other things and I can't complain about a single one of them. The best thing is that you get a bunch of sides free, such as seasoned rice or these awesome black beans.
It isn't especially cheap (for students) with around 11-15€ per person, but that seems normal in Portugal and one portion is large enough for 2 people (unless you eat a lot), so that could be a way to save. The staff seems very nice, but they only speak basic English (which is fine).
Once, however, they asked us if we wanted a plate with bread and cheese as a starter. We asked if it costs extra and they said no, but actually it did. It might have just been a misunderstanding, and the bread and cheese were pretty good, so we didn't complain. Also, other restaurants don't even ask if you want starters and still charge you for them.
I would definitely come here again, though, and recommend it to anyone who comes to Lagos. It's worth it. :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
