I have heard good and bad stories about this place, so I've postponed my visit to this place many times, but I finally made it yesterday and I must say that my experience there was great.
I went there with my brother and we took in total 4 different small plates to share.
One ceviche, one hummus, a purple potato salad and a fried vegetable that I don't remember. We also took a beer and a homemade apfelshorle.
Everything was really really good, and what is awesome about it is also that everything even their (great) bread is gluten free ! I'm still dreaming about all the food I had there, and I'll go back as soon as I can.
The service was also really nice, and we paid 31€ for four plates and two drinks, which isn't cheap but is still alright.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sara A.Chicago, Estados Unidos2121113016 ene 2016
I wish I could have a restaurant this awesome where I live. Everything was amazing, and the owner accommodated me by making a cocktail I saw on the website, but was off the menu when I arrived. The dining area is small but has a wonderful cozy feeling to it. It's a true gem! If I'm ever in Germany again, I will make sure to hit Berlin just to go here. The owner is a genius!!!

The best steak ever! ... and everything else also. Funtastic! ...eating healthy was never so much fun before! Quick and friendly service and gorgeous very paleo looking owner!!! :)
Maybe bit pricey, but plenty of people there, so I guess it's worth it.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alland B.Berlín, Alemania5976817 nov 2012
One of the best filet's I've ever eaten. Amazing attention to detail and quality. The food was outstanding, the service friendly, the prices are very fair and the wine was lovely. The only thing I am not happy with is that I'm not there right now.
A great dining experience recommended to all.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Will P.Prenzlauer Berg, Berlín, Alemania17351 sept 2012
I am a caveman, so not so good with technology. This restaurant is good! They are the only place that serves Authentic caveman food. That mean no gluten or sugar. I do have to say those auto paper towels in the bathroom blew my mind.

I had been waiting over 6months to visit this place. I am allergic to gluten and lactose, so naturally the paleo lifestyle fits with me. Having stumbled across the restaurant during a google search I was super excited to visit Berlin.
I am an Aussie, so when i stumbled across this restaurant i was 6months away from eating there, and my excitement was pretty intense when i finally got to eat there.
So a few hours before we went to eat at Sauvage, we checked out online what we were going to order.
When we arrived at Sauvage we were surprised by the atmosphere and the layout of the restaurant. We were seated at a cute little wooden table with candles as the only lighting. The rest of the restaurant is quite dark with candles lighting the way, which sets a great mood.
When we were given the menu to look over, i was disappointed to notice the two things i had decided on at the hotel before arriving were not on this menu. I was very disappointed, but also excited that i was able to eat and order anything off the menu, this has never happened before.
My friend and i each ordered a starter, a main, a dessert and a bottle of wine. The food was AMAZING!!! I was in heaven with each bite. My friend doesn't follow a paleo lifestyle, however was still impressed by the grain free bread and crackers, the apple and rhubarb crumble and the bacon wrapped quail.
I wished i'd had more time in Berlin to go back to Sauvage for Breakfast, their grain free, gluten free, dairy free and sugar free options looked amazing.
For the 3 courses and a bottle of wine, we were only set back 70ish euro, which in my eyes is pretty good for the quality and the portion sizes we were served.
Will recommend this place to any one visiting Berlin regardless of allergies or health choices.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Bob S.San Diego, Estados Unidos9450242 sept 2013
American traveling through Berlin with some locals I never thought I'd be treated to such a delightful experience. The decor, vibe, and food was all amazing. You know the story - paleo grub sourced only from the most ethically raised animals and fresh ingredients without wheat, gluten, blah blah... Bottom line is that the food is DELICIOUS! Worth the trip if you are a local or just traveling through.

Don't get me wrong. I love the concept behind this place. I eat fairly strict Paleo and this is one of the places I can easily order almost everything from the menu. So, what went wrong. Well here's a list of things I found lacking:
-service is horrible. We were there when most tables were taken and there was one guy doing all the service. He was trying his best but it took forever to take our order, bring our drinks and so forth. Unacceptable, especially if your place is booming.
-the menu is very limited. I know you can't have tons of stuff if you regularly update it but come on....this is a Paleo place.....have a steak on the menu at least. I like creative cooking but sometimes I want a great steak with vegetables or something along those lines. Show me that you can cook and make the simple, basic stuff spectacular because you focus on Paleo.
-the wine list is odd. We weren't impressed with the wines we tried.
-the pricing for dishes is odd. Two completely different dishes have pricing which seems pulled from the hip. Not really cheap nor expensive but odd pricing.
-fairly boring room. They could have easily done a bit more "design" and make it memorable. Don't make the place a cave or anything like that but put a bit more effort into it.
-the tables outside are nice but invest some money and get quality stuff. Somewhat flimsy in my opinion.
Now, for the positive. I like Paleo and if you do too, definitely try this place out. It is worth it just to finally see places focused on Paleo. I foresee some more places doing something similar in the future. Hopefully competition will force Sauvage to up their game.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nancy K.CA, Estados Unidos2831410 dic 2013
So this place was ok, maybe it was what I ordered, but it was an experience. For what I had, lamb as my main dish, it was good, but I've had better. The bulk of my party ordered steak and they all felt it was very much just ok - they all wanted some salt and pepper.
the dessert I had, pumpkin tart, was ok, but I think I would have preferred the chocolate. However beware, it is very bland and bitter, no sugar is added. If you love dark chocolate it is amazing, but if you're not expecting it then don't order it. I would probably go back only if it is another company dinner.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alan D.Roskilde, Dinamarca02513 oct 2014
Sauvage had been rather hyped up to me before I visited.
Visually the food is impressively presented maybe it's because I'm no foodie and don't appreciate gluten free food, but the food was rather average.
I had a fish filet and it was just pan-fried and seasoned with pepper, it was served with citrus flavoured broccoli. Nothing wild there.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
