The Linen Cupboard

This is a gorgeous little shop that sells top end bed linen, throws and soft furnishings for the home. Being in Cowbridge, a town renowned for its affluence, it is unsurprising that The Linen Cupboard stocks recognised designers such as Cath Kidson... and so you can expect the price tags to be heftier than at Ikea!

I last visited The Linen Cupboard when I was looking to buy some Egyptian Cotton bedding. I was looking for the most exquisite kind (around the 1,000 tcg, or tgc, or tee something or other... I'm afraid I can't quite remember the gauge by which they account for the amount of threads used per square inch... but I believe that Egyptian cotton starts at the 200 mark in the tcg thingy, making the 1,000 count pretty luxurious!)

Somewhat unsurprisingly The Linen Cupboard didn't disappoint. But sadly, I had failed to take into account one small consideration... I was pretty low on funds at the time. And this is not because The Linen Cupboard is so p[ricey... I couldn't have even afforded the bargain basement alternative at Ikea... oopse!

This delightful shop is situated in the middle of Willow Walk, a series of shops in a pleasant pedestrianised area alongside the river.

As its name suggests there is an abundance of beautiful fine linens to be found here. It is the perfect place to make (dare I say it) an early start on your Christmas shopping.

The Linen Cupboard stocks a range of products from the Cath Kidston collection (in fact the largest selection in South Wales) and as I'm a fan of the brand, was happy to discover this. They also have a nice variety of candles and some absolutely beautiful cushions.

The exterior and interior of the shop have a very New England/Bostonian feel about them. A nice touch is the small coffee shop (only two tables) at the rear of the store, selling scones, cakes, drinks etc...

You can stop off here and have a coffee. They have a wonderful little dog thats sits in her basket in the window and if you are a fan of Cath Kidston you will love this place.
