The overall decor of the interior is clean and simple, yet sophisticatedly done.
The staff were all very pleasant and ready to help at any moment.
We ordered the two ramens off the menu...
The Tonkotsu ramen was pretty tasty with a decent broth. The two types of pork were very good and added both flavor and texture to the dish.
The Miso Turnip ramen on the other hand was not very good. The noodles used in both ramens were very good and had a great authentic mouth feel and flavor to them, but the broth for the miso ramen was very disappointing. It was lacking in depth/flavor which made me question if there was enough miso in the dish. Mostly I tasted turnip water with noodles. On a positive note, the soft boiled soy sauce eggs with seven spice were amazing. Looking forward to going back to try other items on the menu.
We scheduled our entire day around meeting up this evening for some of Jilly's ice cream at their new ice bar. The hours listed online as well as on their door stated they were open on Saturdays until 10pm. We arrived at the ice cream bar at 8:30pm to locked doors and an off "open" sign... WTF. What a major let-down. Guess we won't be going out of our way anytime soon to go to Jilly's since they're unreliable. FAIL.
This place is OKAY for a general hangout. If you're not looking for much.
It's a little dirty, a little smelly, a little skanky...
There are plenty of pool tables, but only one foosball table, only one shuffle board table, only one ping pong table, and sadly only one air hockey table. If anything, I wish they had more of these other tables so more people could enjoy a variety of activities.
Friends I went with ordered boneless buffalo chicken strips and fries. These items were tasty enough.
Warning: Do not wear anything unless it's time for it to be washed or dry cleaned as cigarette smoke will definitely cling!
I admit I too was intimidated by the negative reviews about this location. However, I recently had a masquerade themed party and the woman working at Remember Me was a life-savor! She was very helpful and pleasant to speak with. I wish I remembered her name, but I know she is not the owner/manager. She has long hair and majored in theatrical costumes or something with the theatre so she knows her stuff! My friends and I all rented victorian style dresses and a couple of guys also rented outifts. The dresses included the ball gown, hoop skirt, choker, head piece (feathers) and gloves. All for a reasonable $. The men's costumes consisted of very ornate coats with gorgeous buttons/trim/cuffs, matching vests, knicker-esque pants and frilly fake shirt pieces that made their collars and shirt cuffs appear to be very decorative and fitting for the overall aesthetic.
I would definitely go back to rent/buy other costumes and look forward to the next chance I get to dress up again!
I've tried a few different frozen yogurt locations, but this is my favorite by far. Usually I frequent the Froyo on Delmar Blvd as I used to live down that way, but I thought I should give the Creve Coeur location a chance. I was happy to find it was set up mostly the same and my favorite flavors (chocolate & red velvet cake) were there as well. I saw a new flavor I'd never tried before, mint, and thought I'd give it a try with some chocolate. It was very creamy, not too overpowering mint-wise and complimented the chocolate very well. As the area this store is located in is slightly less populated than the Loop, there was ample seating available and I definitely see myself becoming a regular at this location as well.
