We took a day trip from our resort about 30 min away to visit 5th ave and found this nice spot. You do have to walk a bit to 46th but it is definitely worth it! It's far enough from the busy shops to be quiet and it has a nice corner view. The food is great! We got the Mac and cheese, pickles, cauliflower, and a pulled pork sandwich. Everything was good! Also, for other visitors from out of country, they were playing American Rock music so it was nice to jam out in a new environment. The waitstaff was very polite, they had no issue with English, and the prices were good. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a place to eat

Fabulous open air restaurant! Loved the atmosphere, decor and feel of the place. Hubby and I stopped in for breakfast and each ordered the green chilaquiles omelet, without crema. They arrived at first with the crema, but new ones were brought out quickly. The food was fresh and tasty-the tortillas inside were a bit crunchy-probably fried-and were good, but the texture became kind of one note after a while.
I would definitely return-would be a great spot for dinner and a cocktail for sure!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Davis T.Boston, Estados Unidos2611333912 ene 2019
This place is super cute, great aesthetic vibes. It way down at the end/ beginning of 5th so off the beaten path. Everything was great: drinks, food and service.
They have a lot of fun cool different plate with simple yet interesting preparations. They do some cool veggie dishes which we found hard to find in this area (meaning there are not a ton of veggie centra dishes). Plates are small BUT super filling!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nikki G.Charlotte, Estados Unidos562161729 may 2018
I came to Playa Del Carmen for 5 days and planned almost every meal we ate. We left a few things open so we could play some things by ear and take local recommendations and I'm so glad we did! We stumbled upon El Zorro Plateado right up the street from out Airbnb and it ended up being one of my favorite meals. We came for breakfast and I started with a wonderful iced coffee and ordered the chia pudding and the egg dish wrapped in a corn tortilla.
The chia pudding was great but the egg dish was fabulous (think crunch wrap supreme but authentic). Filled with a fried egg, refried beans, cheese, and a salsa on top I wanted to come back and get it every morning! Definitely worth a visit, especially in the morning.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alex C.San Diego County, Estados Unidos8356919629 dic 2018
Love this food! Excellent pineapple juice. Chai chia bowl, So flavorful and scrumptious. The corn cakes were delicious and fluffy. With your fresh bread and fresh butter and green sauce we will definitely come here again. Great service too. Friendly staff.

Super good place. Had breakfast there and I will be back. Nice atrmosphere, good price and excellent food. Hope they will continue for ever like this.
I went back for lunch: zucchini cooked in the hoven and green rice with egg... a delicious light meal.
Back again twice (lunch and dinner) food is very good but both times very slow. Waiters soend a lot of time talking anongst themselves instead of speading up a bit the service.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 08 abr 2017Reseña anteriorSuper good place. I'm so glad to be able to share this restaurant. Especially since I walked by it about 3 times before stopping in. I think the heat had gone to my head. This is definitely one of the best places in the region. And is located on The Pedestrian walkway but on the calm end of it. Probably why it seems to be mostly locals and not too many tourists, and less like me they are adventurers as well.

This breezy open-air corner restaurant is a must visit when you are in Playa del Carmen. The food is top-notch- Playful. Intentional. Seasonal. Local. All creatively plated on oaxacan pottery. Excellent service that is welcoming and puts one at ease. And yes the food is excellent. I only wish I could eat more or had come on this trip with friends to be able to share more tastes.
.
There is an 8am breakfast menu. And there is a 1pm lunch and all day menu until late night. I'm just going to have to go back and taste this restaurant in small bites.

The design is wonderful with high ceilings and metal doors that pivot upward to create shade. Rustic lighting combined with an industrial type feel. Lots of fans fans, open kitchen keep it pleasant for everyone. The cooks and chefs need to be happy too not just the patrons. I get the feeling they are and it shows in the food , the service ,and vibe.
Can't wait to go back for dessert, a cocktail and then maybe breakfast if I time everything right before I head out.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Angelina V.Manhattan, Estados Unidos278 abr 2018
Such a great place! Sorry we discovered it towards the end of our stay.
The food is truly excellent, fresh, healthy, full of flavor and thought through. Our dining experience in Playa del Carmen before El Zorro had been very disappointing, so we actually had low expectations when we walked in. But we thought that at least the place looked very attractive! Well, I now wish this place was in my neighborhood in New York so I can go every day. **BEST BATHROOMS IN PLAYA DEL CARMEN***
Ok, now that I have your attention, I have spent the past two weeks in Playa del Carmen and we ate here three times after finding this place halfway through our stay. All for breakfast/brunch, and each time was a delightful experience. We were lucky to have the same server twice so she recognized us and was so pleasant and sweet, I wish I would have asked her name so I could give her a shout out in this review. The food at Zorro Plateado is very fresh, very creative and simple, and is a great place to sit and have a juice or coffee during the day. The building and decor is so beautiful (very Instagrammable) and the patio is great for people-watching. The music they play gives a great vibe to the space and we were really happy with the time we spent here and the food we ate. I had a fruit and yogurt for breakfast the last time we were there, my husband had the chilaquiles and we shared with each other. My fruit and yogurt plate was rather simple: local pineapple and papaya, local baby bananas, and chia seeds sprinkled on top of everything. The papaya was the best I have ever had and the pineapples were super sweet. The chilaquile dish was also very good, although we couldn't figure out why the red sauce was on the side of the tortillas and eggs. It was extra nice they asked if we wanted red or green sauce when we ordered too! I also highly recommend the almond pound cake with caramel ice cream and baby bananas because I just about died eating it, it was that good.
As I said above, they seriously have the best bathrooms in PdC- they are unisex but have fully enclosed toilets and are super clean (AND they have toilet seats).
Overall I would totally recommend this place and I wish we had more time to come back and have dinner!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Mitali P.Sunnyvale, Estados Unidos3365429 dic 2019
All our dishes were so flavorful and delicious! We tried the oven roasted veggies, beans, fish ceviche, fish stew, relleno negro pork, roasted chicken, almond pound cake, coconut panna cotta and choc mousse. It's also away from the crowds of 5th Avenue which is an added bonus!
