La Chicha

The drinks and food were not good. Was very underwhelmed based on previous reviews we had read. We ordered the shrimp tacos and one of the hamburgers (the waiters recommendation) and it was tough to finish. Disappointing because we were excited but the food just isn't good nothing more than cooked, really had no flavor. We ordered mezcal margaritas and they were small and simple something we could've gotten somewhere else for much cheaper.

This is a place I would visit again. It's vegetarian friendly, so it was a place my diverse group of friends could go. Our server wasn't the most helpful for the non-spanish speakers, but once the food and drinks arrived, it didn't matter. Salsa played lightly in the background and we had a few dances with our after dinner drinks. I would visit here again...the food is worth another visit alone.

The place looks cute. It's cozy and has colorful decor and lighting. Unfortunately the food is just not very good. I was excited to try it because it's NOT EASY to find vegetarian food in Mexico. I ordered the mushroom tacos and they were just bland and tasteless, not to mention on the cold side (but I've noticed this a lot in Mexico, not sure why this is). I couldn't eat more than a bite or 2, so I then ordered the 3 cheese sandwich. It was just ok. Not sure what kind of cheese it was...had an unfamiliar flavor.

La Chicha was a couple of blocks away from our airbnb and we found this place as we were walking around Roma Norte. The food was amazing, the service was top notch and the variety of mixed drinks and craft beer (bottled) was great! I definitely wanted to go back and eat there again but we were short on time. I'll definitely be back during my next trip. The vibes were great and there was a mixed crowd of older & younger. The music being played while I was there included reggae and cumbias.

La Chicha was my savior on my trip to CDMX. Our AirBNB was two blocks away, but the WiFi was down the entire trip. La Chicha started as a place for us to check in with friends to meet up & ended as our go-to spot the whole trip. The cocktails were amazing & the food was great! We ended up there almost every night of our trip. The staff was extraordinarily helpful with our limited Spanish. I'd definitely recommend La Chicha to anyone who travels to Mexico City & especially if you're staying in Roma Norte.

Awesome place. Great tapas. Get the cauliflower for sure. Live music was wonderful too.

I love La Chicha! Really nice, relaxed vibe with reasonably priced food and drinks. The staff are all super nice and welcoming and the owner is awesome. I like to order the vegetarian tacos, they come piled high with oyster mushrooms and fresh vegetables, a nice change from the usual meat and cheese heavy options.

Great vibe, feels a little like brooklyn. They have good vegetarian burgers and great mezcal cocktails. The servers are super nice! Great outdoor seating.
